This was a fun book that immediately screamed out bed time for me for obvious reasons (the flashlight). You see the little boy navigate his way through what appears to be his backyard and maybe into the woods. Since the flashlight is only unveiling partial pictures you are left to use your context clues to piece together a story. This does require a big imagination but who's got a bigger imagination than a 5-7 year old?!

I really like the cover of this book. After I look at this book it really interest me, so I did a little research about the book. As I look at some of the pages inside the book, I really like to illustration inside the book, yet I agree with you that this book would benefit beyond kindergarten grade.
ReplyDeleteI love the use of color in this book. It is a good example of using black and white with a pop of color in a meaningful way to match the content of going for a walk outside at night with a flashlight. It brings me back to fun summer nights as a child.
